help me with choosing IA topic!

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am still choosing a topic...

https://ibmathsresources.com/2015/03/01/areyoupsychic/

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCYQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.skillsworkshop.org%2Fl2num%2Fl2bmi.pdf&ei=H7P8UvqLOM-KhQfE6ID4Dg&usg=AFQjCNEXfisDK1sJ9chxUwalJDN3TwS7Hg&bvm=bv.61190604,d.ZG4

These are two topics.

Are you psychic? Use the binomial distribution to test your ESP abilities.

Change in a person’s BMI over time - There are lots of examples of BMI stats investigations online – see if you can think of an interesting twist.

which one would gain me more marks?

Also, are these too common topics that have been investigated by a lot of students?

Can you recommend me one if there is  a good topic.

Greetings, You want your IA to be something you are interested in after all it is a whole essay you have to make about it. Does one interst you more then the other? When you are interested you will write better then if your not. If they are about the same for you i would do the the fisrt idea of  Use the binomial distribution to test your ESP abilities. I think there is more to write about there then the BMI one your teachers and the IB are bound to know about.

Oh you are HL? Some statistics reason go wrong when students use statistics outside of syllabus, especially when they are not familiar with the equations. Stats are unlikely to score high in HL because HL needs many math topics but it's often hard to include calculus or vectors etc in stats IAs. You can search the HL forum for IA ideas.

Hi, I asked for HL IA in another thread, which is mine.

And this thread is my SL friend's. She asked me to upload it here.

Thank you!
