Sasha1245
Hello people of IB Survival, I desperately need your help with brainstorming an idea for my Physics IA. I was thinking about doing an experiment on the affect of the angle made by a rooftop (which has crushed ice on it), on the range that the crushed ice covers - basically how further away it falls from the edge of the rooftop. This applies to real life since ice slipping off rooftops is an actual problem in countries that have those heavy snow fall days. But, I believe that we are meant to expand on the syllabus for the IA... and hence I think this RQ and this investigation would be too simple. Could I do this as my IA? Any suggestions would be appreciated x Reply
tim9800
Seems fine to me. Your IA seems to revolve around friction and mechanics, the former of which is covered only very briefly in the IB syllabus... but the bright side is that any additional detail you go into will probably come off as personal engagement.
