Physics question on terminal velocity / g

So the equation I am testing is: .

In order to find terminal velocity (vt) I used video analysis, but I am getting a negative terminal velocity. I was just wondering if this is possible? If so, does that mean the g is also negative? I am slightly confused because from the graphs that I've seen of this equation, I expected it to be a straight line through the origin as such. However, if my terminal velocity is negative, then I will not obtain this graph. Am I supposed to take the absolute value of the terminal velocity, is there something I am doing wrong? Thank you!
