throwaway
So I'm a grade 8 student, who got the email that i have been accepted into the IB program for Alex Mackenzie. Do I go for it or not, as I've heard its reputation before, so I'm not sure. Thanks Reply
VeronicaG
Technically, you're not in IB yet. That starts in Grade 11. Grade 9 and 10 is very similar to the normal provincial curriculum but sped up a little more with slightly harder projects. I would suggest doing it for a couple years if you want a more enriched environment with more motivated peers. If you decide not to commit to full IB you can always switch. Universities don't care about marks til Grade 12 anyway so you have time to experiment Reply

IB indeed is well reputed, but not everyone can handle it. The new syllabus for some subjects is more difficult than it is now. If you can manage your time VERY well, I'd say go for it. Rosalina
It really depends. What do you want to study? Reply

In regards to the comment on Grade 12 marks, the poster was talking about Canadian universities as she and the OP both have Canadian flags in their profile.
