Hey,

We just got our Term 1 Report Cards today, and here are my scores..

History HL - 4

Chem SL - 4

Biology HL - 5

Math SL - 6

French SL - 6

English HL - N/A (we did not take English last semester)

Total: 25

With these scores do you think my goal of a 39 is possible? Please be honest

Yes it is possible. My term 1 grades in year 1 was something like:

Economics HL – 4

Biology HL – 5

Chemistry SL – 3

English HL – 5

Maths SL – 5

Indonesian SL – 3

I got a 41 in the end, from a predicted 44.

Don't worry too much.

First off, you have yet to include your English HL score which should be at least 4 points (looking at your other subjects), making your total score 29. So, there is now only a 10 point gap.

As for how you could improve, I suggest focusing on your History and Chem for now. It is very simple to improve in these subjects since you can essentially mug for these subjects (even Biology as a matter of fact). Just consult your teacher on your mistakes and fix them immediately. You can improve on these subjects since they just require you to understand the concepts, memorize details and application of knowledge. I would be worried if your subjects were languages since languages are progressive subjects - you need to work on it for a long time before you see results.

Hope this helps! And don't worry too much!! :D
