Shelina
Hi guys, I have a maths paper 2 tomorrow. I have a question: are we supposed to show working on how we got the answer or are we just meant to jot it down without proper justification? kw0573
Have you seen a markscheme? On both papers of Math SL, IB assigns only one point for the final answer. Then intermediate steps usually have one mark for method, one mark for intermediate answer. That means for questions worth just one point, maybe two points, it's often enough to just write down the answer. In fact, IB will literally say "write down" for these questions. For other questions, you may need to show how you got to an equation (or expression) and how you solved it. Reply

Also it's probably not a good idea to start asking these questions a literal day before the test. Similarly, if you have questions about any of your IA or other assignment you shouldn't wait till the last minute. Reply
