IB Candidate School vs Authroized

Recommended Posts

What is the difference between a fully authorized IB programme and a school that is an IB Candidate? Does it make an impact on whether or not I get my diploma or the education in general?

IB Candidate School is not yet authorized to offer the DP. The school is pending IB approval.  See article 7.1 of https://www.ibo.org/globalassets/publications/become-an-ib-school/rules-for-ib-candidate-schools-en.pdf

The meaning of word authorized can be seen more clearly in https://www.ibo.org/globalassets/publications/become-an-ib-school/required-text-for-candidate-schools-to-use-in-marketing-materials.pdf
