Certificate Student, is IA even worth it?

We had another IA and it’s due Friday but because I’m a certificate student I wasn’t told to do it. So I didn’t and I appreciated that I didn’t have to because of my ADHD. I’m in math studies and I am the only student who isn’t Full Diploma IB in the class and we’re preparing for the IA. If it’s only supposed to help me get the diploma then why would I even bother? I’m not gonna get the diploma anyways (I didn’t even find out I couldn’t until a few months into IB junior year) so I’d just be doing an IA for no reward. I don’t see the value in it unless it will specifically aid me as a Certificate Student. What am I supposed to do?

You need to submit an IA for grading if you want the Certificate. You do not need to submit ToK or EE, but you need to do the IA for the subjects you are enrolled in. I know that it is just a practice one, but you should go ahead and submit one this Friday. I don't understand why ADHD has anything to do with not completing assignments. It could be probably within your right to ask for an extension or such, but internalizing your condition is not the way to be successful.

I mistook an EE for an IA and got it straightened out. I only mentioned ADHD because one of my teachers who just got back from her honeymoon gave me three project weighted assignments all due last Friday and I got a surprise that I was never put in gov and Econ so I have to take those classes the same period I take an online psych course or I won’t be able to graduate and attend college. Had hopes I could just focus on that but thank you for helping me out!
