john_wrot
Can I do AB spanish when I have done previous years of spanish at my school? Reply
patrickjames
I know some people who would be in the same year as you. My school doesn't offer spanish, only french or chinese but I don't think it would be massively different. There's been a huge thing at my school because the IB coordinator just changed the rules where you can only do ab initio if you have never done the language before. This was big because the entire class of about 10 students from ab mandarin had to go up to SL because they had all done chinese before. I think the point of ab initio is for students who have never done it before, but my entire class of about 7 students have done mandarin for at least a few years so I think it's up to your school and IB coordinator.
