Allemande135
What is Nature of Science? It seems like the IB is beginning to ask more and more questions on it in the exams. Is there anything that I need to know or understand for it? I know that you can just use some common sense and logic to answer these types of questions, but is there any way to prepare? kw0573
Do you have some specific Nature of Science questions from 2016 onwards? I tried to look for them before but I did not find any. Reply
Allemande135
@kw0573 In the November 2017 Paper 2, question 3 (a) (iii) says "State why knowledge of quantities such as resistivity is useful to scientists." In that same paper, question 5 (c) writes "Not all scientists agree that global warming is caused by the activities of man. Outline how scientists try to ensure agreement on a scientific issue." kw0573
It seems for 3(a)(iii) type questions, you would remember one application of all the quantities in the data booklet. And for 5(c) it looks like it's asking about the scientific method, in which scientists would run trials independently and have their work peer-reviewed and see if everyone get the same answer. In particular for global warming, scientists would also try different methods and see the the conclusion is the same. Reply
