Lily5883 Posted May 20, 2019 Report Share Posted May 20, 2019 May seem like a dumb question but all the stuff I see are people who are saying they failed the IOC and if they could still get a 7, but can you fail an IOC (~10/30), do an okay job on an IOP (~15/30) and still get at least a passing for the actual IB score (HL English)? kw0573 Posted May 20, 2019 Report Share Posted May 20, 2019 So if the post-moderation marks are 10 and 15 for the internal assessments (worth 30% combined), that accumulates (10 + 15)*30%/(30+30) = 12.5% towards your final grade. Suppose the same person gets PERFECT on everything else, then the external assessments would contribute 100%*(0.7) = 70%. 70% + 12.5% = 82.5% In most years, 82.5 (or 83)% is a 7. So MATHEMATICALLY, it is possible to get a 7 with 10/30 and 15/30 on the internal assessments 1 Reply Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
