sunny1028 Posted August 15, 2019 Report Share Posted August 15, 2019 Hi, I’m doing my EE in English Lit A1 and I’ve chosen Dan Brown’s Angels and Demons for my text. I’ve seen lots of people recommend against Dan Brown in Lit EEs but I’d like honest opinions after reading my research question: How does Dan Brown show the conflicts between the disciplines of Science and Religion to prove the possibility of their coexistence in the novel Angels & Demons? What I’m trying to get at is that the novel has been criticized for setting science and religion at odds, but actually the author implies that they’re just different ways to look at the same thing ie humans’ need to understand themselves, hence they are not opposite ‘sides’ at all. What do you think? Is it a bad idea to continue with this particular author?
