HJ:)
I am thinking about taking SAT 1 for the schools in AmericaCan anyone suggest me a good book I could study from? Reply
JourneyTo
Barron's is really good. The official SAT book published by the college board is also really cool: it has 8 or so practice exams. Reply
Ongfufu
Princeton Review. Reply
Mahuta ♥
Use sparknotes it contains the exact same notes as the ones in the book I bought. Reply
Forester
You can also try the Collegeboard online course. It is quite useful. Reply
HJ:)
Use sparknotes it contains the exact same notes as the ones in the book I bought.what do you mean?? Are you saying that sparknotes has all the information you need for the SAT 1? Reply
Forester
^ of course not. Otherwise no one would be using the SAT books. Reply
biochem
I wasted so much money on SAT books. Seriously, the best thing to do is go search them online. People put them up all the time. I found a math specific SAT book, really wonderful.here it is for someone who would like to use it:http://books.google.com/books?id=aiHhP6EbT...esult#PPA132,M1 Reply

hermine0817
But it is true that the sparknotes has an extra sections just devoted for SAT. I saw that there were quite some helpful notes. Reply
CocoPop
RocketReview is good.College Board's Blue Book containing official SAT papers is a must. Reply
Mike
I recommend Barrons with the CD and flash cards. Reply
Bee =3
i agree with whoever recommended princeton review. i've tried barron's, collegeboard and princeton and i stick to the last one.. one specific advantage i found it had over others was that in the practice exams it gives u an exact score, rather than a range, whcih is much more frustrating.. ^^ Reply
Chesire_Cat
I also used Princeton's review, and I found it useful. However, I don't really think that the books can really help that much, or make a huge difference on the scores. I find that people who went to SAT camps and bought 4 books did worse than I did, and I prepared 2 days before the SATs... Reply
sriraj317
I would certainly go with Barron's. It gives useful techniques and better practice compared to the others I have used. It also has a full word list. It's the best I have seen!I first tried Princeton Review and I feel it was useless. Wasted my money on it. The College Board book is also OK but it doesn't have a word list. Reply
Stereoisomer
I agree with sriraj317, I thought the Princeton Review book was pretty much useless. I especially disliked the whole Joe Bloggs scenario.. Maybe it works for you, so try it if you wish.Barron's SAT is way to go! The material may be slightly difficult than the sort of questions you encounter on the SAT but it will prepare you well. Do the practice tests from the blue CB book Good Luck! Mattias
The Princeton Review is quite good. Reply
powa2
I would use the Blue Book and Barron's preparing for the SAT for the tips that are in there, they have some great information and advice on each section that I found helpful. I would use the Princeton review just for the practice tests that they have. Reply
librarymugger
Is SAT 2 necessary for uni application ? Let's say Harvard or other IV League Uni ? @.@ Reply
sweetnsimple786
Some colleges require SAT2 while others recommend it while others don't care. The unis that are harder to get into require or strongly recommend it. Harvard requires 3 and MIT requires 2. Check their websites for which ones they ask you to take [one science and one math, at least] as well as for other requirements. Reply
