If someone, please explain to me how to do it

A climber left base camp at 5 A.M. to ascend a 7400-meter peak. The climber gained altitude at the rate of 240 m/h and at 8 A.M. was at the 6500-meter level.

Find the elevation of the base camp.

Okay I might not have done it correctly at all, but perhaps you can gain some insight :(


PS To understand my primitive chicken scratch, think of the picture being on a coordinate plane/grid, with the y axis measuring altitude and the x axis measuring time.
