iotabebraindead
I really wanted to research a lot about music after world war ii for my IA, but I'm afraid I'm lacking in resources. Does anybody perhaps have any suggestions to help me narrow my focus on my research question? Reply
sweetnsimple786
If you don't have enough sources for your topic already, wouldn't narrowing it make it worse to find material? You could probably look at jazz from the Harlem renaissance or something and what it showed about the society. I would think there would be sufficient material on that, but while it's probably not an overdone IA, I don't know how much room you have to explore. That is, I don't know if there's so much said that there's no controversy or anything and you can only report on it rather than add to the discussion. jeremy866
I think narrowing it down to a certain type of music would be good. If you feel that's not enough, try doing certain country's music. For example how the communists in Russia affects the creation of new songs etc etc. Or how American songs are used as propaganda against USSR during the Cold War era Reply
