MitchCampbell
Here are some links to videos that I've put up on Youtube in order to help students prepare for their IB Math SL exams. I've been teaching IB for a number of years, and wanted to find a way to help students - not just my own, but anyone. Here I decided to make videos showing detailed answers to every question from the past IB Math SL exam, May 2006, Paper 1, Time Zone 1. I'll be putting up paper 2 later on, and plan to also do a Physics HL paper in the same way. -MitchQuestion 1 (matrices)Question 2 (probability)Question 3 (transformations of functions)Question 4 (normal distributions)Question 5 (calculus - derivatives)Question 5 (continued)Question 6 (quadratic equations)Question 7 (compositions of functions)Question 8 (mean, median, mode)Question 9 (simultaneous equations with matrices)Question 10 (logarithms)Question 11 (calculus - 1st and 2nd derivative)Question 12 (calculus - velocity + motion)Question 13 (circular functions - arc length, sector area)Question 14 (trigonometry - transformations of sine curve)Question 15 (graphing - intercepts) Edited December 1, 2009 by MitchCampbell do not post your email publically. chrypton
I just watched a bit of your videos on Youtube, and can say that they are great! A great way to prepare for the exams, where you need to practice with past papers. I'm hoping you're also planning to do Maths and Physics HL soon .Keep it up! MitchCampbell
Actually, I'm going to be doing the same thing for a Physics HL exam in the next week or two. I'll post in the physics forum when that happens. Feel free to tell people you know about the Youtube videos. The idea is to help out as many others as possible. Cheers,Mitch
elmar
I hope you have the time and patience to do Math HL as well, as it would provide insight to which Math course I should take next year. Thank you!
Fezz
The videos are really really helpful! Like I commented on one of the videos itself, I learned more from those videos than an entire year of maths sl at my school... Thank you for posting them! MitchCampbell
Hi again, everyone. I received a message from the IB saying that I need to take down my videos since they show IB exam questions. I had to comply with their request, and so I'm sorry to say that the exam videos are gone. However, this actually frees me up to do something I've been thinking about for a while now: I'm starting a new thread where students can post a request for a particular topic within the IB curriculum. Then depending on what responses there are, I'll sit down and do a set of videos for that topic. -It's too bad that I had to take down the videos, but this can turn into a good thing - you can now request specific topics for help and I'll be able to target my videos to what you'd like to learn. My goal here is to help you out! MitchMod Edit- Mitch's new thread:
