Can I write my EE in English A1 if I study English A2?

Recommended Posts

I don't want to do my essay in Swedish A1 because I can't seem to find a Swedish book I would like to analyse and I don't want to do the English A2 alternative because I just don't want to. Is it possible for me to do my EE in English A1 then?

The EE Guide says

It is intended that students should not submit a group 1 extended essay in their group 2 language.

So, no. But you're allowed to do a literature-y essay in Group 2. I don't know how it's different from Group 1 except you don't have to write as well, I guess. Why don't you want to do Group 2? [Group 1 is A1, Group 2 is A2/B]

Even though it is not recommended, you can write your EE in a subject you don't take (i.e. English A1 in your case). Just ask your IBC and see what he/she says.
